Notably, the Forms Live MCP marks the first application of Anthropic’s MCP – an open protocol designed to help Claude AI models integrate with third-party applications – within the Australian real estate sector.

Mr Howell added: "Some of the most effective technologies for real estate are leveraging data to enhance business processes. As a company that captures data at the very beginning of the property transaction through the provision of our Forms Live forms, we want to encourage further innovation that drives efficiency and profitability."

About Dynamic Methods

Dynamic Methods is an independent, South Australian-owned proptech that has been the leading provider of forms, contracts and efficiency tools to the property industry nationally since 2005. All our forms will be updated regularly to ensure the full scope of forms are catered for.”

Dynamic Methods had not been able to inform users of the changes in advance. Under the terms of the old contract, it was not permitted to communicate directly with REISA members about the termination without REISA's agreement.

“Under our previous contract, REISA was the owner of the client relationships with its members, the copyright on the forms and the data generated by them. This tied our hands around communicating with users directly,” Mr Howell explained.

“But we have worked hard to minimise the disruption, and we will provide as much assistance as we can to ensure that it is business as usual for South Australian agents.”

Mr Howell said one of the most important differences between the old and new forms was that agents would be able to access and own any data generated within the platform. This replicates the Forms Live service that Dynamic Methods offers in Victoria.

“Agencies that decide to use the new Forms Live will retain ownership and access to their data and any forms and contracts they generate in the system, even if they decide to end their relationship with us,” Mr Howell said.

“This is a really important differentiation. From today, agents can make a genuine choice about who owns the data that is captured in their documents and forms. They can choose to use a system they are familiar with that ensures they own the rights to the data generated from any contracts they create.”

For further information:

Mark Hollands: mark@proptechguru.com.au // 0410 317 443

ABOUT DYNAMIC METHODS

Dynamic Methods is Australia’s leading provider of forms and contracts to the property industry through the Forms Live platform that is delivered in partnership with real estate institutes in NSW, Qld, WA, NT, Tasmania, and the ACT and independently in Victoria and South Australia.

The Forms Live platform is the leading provider of forms and contracts for the real estate industry around Australia and is owned by Dynamic Methods. As dusk begins to cast a shadow across your workspace when you realise winning the office pie eating contest and beating your high score on the Ms. Pac-Man pinball hasn’t drawn you any closer to completing the feature that needs to be deployed...first thing the following day.

While this can be seen as bad time management, it also begs the question - were employees seduced by a few of their favourite things, disguising the non-existent work-life balance culture contributing to the tech industry having one of the highest turnover rates?

Pioneered by Google, the hills were alive with free snacks and game rooms, the golden tickets to attracting top technical talent. Now that the Dotcom bubble of the early 2000s has dissipated, and remote and hybrid work models from the last few years are here to stay, let’s face it - these perks no longer have the same ‘climb every mountain’ appeal by following every rainbow, as they once did.

As noted by Chris McNamara, chief revenue officer at HR platform Remote, in TechRepublic - “no amount of ping pong tables and catered lunches is going to make up for the fact that remote work enables people to embrace what’s really important in their life. And I think that shift, is here to stay”.

Well, here at Dynamic Methods, we certainly concur and have proudly done things a little differently from the start – just ask our long tenured team members, who have yet to say, so long farewell, auf wiedersehen adieu!

While long-term tenure is often seen as a rarity among the tech industry, we take great pride in the exceptional longevity of our staff – collectively, with 85 years and counting. This is a direct result of the company culture we’ve fostered from day dot.

So, without divulging all our secrets, we thought we’d share how we cultivated a positive work environment, sans game rooms, nurturing our long serving team members - where the first three notes just happen to be, do-re-mi.

Do - start with the hiring process

Let’s start at the very beginning, it’s a very good place to start!

At Dynamic Methods, when we’re looking for a new team member, we adopt the philosophy “skills can be taught, good character cannot”.

The first step toward reducing the possibility of high staff turnover involves hiring candidates with qualities that resonate with your company culture and long-term retention in mind.

There is also that je ne sais quoi quality we look for that can only be determined after spending time with the team - enter our four-week trial period. During this time, potential team members are hands-on with our established members on active projects, allowing the whole team to gauge if they would be a good fit.

Raise - the bar and elevate the onboarding experience

As reported by The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), 20% of staff plan to leave a company within the first 45 days. This highlights a crucial truth: if the onboarding experience isn’t engaging, new hires may start feeling disconnected from the start.

To combat this, during the four-week trial period, we adopt an onboarding process that helps to make newcomers feel welcome and supported from their first day. Going beyond merely outlining a work schedule, we guide them through our software architecture and start assigning tickets - fostering an open and encouraging group dynamic.

Mitigate - a competition culture for a collaborative one

Longevity breeds mentorship, and that’s where the magic happens!

Seasoned employees play a pivotal role in guiding new team members, by sharing their expertise, while instilling a culture of innovation and excellence. This mentorship fosters a vibrant cycle of learning and growth, ensuring as we expand, we maintain the unique substance that defines us.

This spirit of collaboration not only upholds high standards across all areas of the business but aligns everyone - regardless of their experience level - with our mission and goals. It’s this seamless teamwork that empowers us to adapt to the fast-paced changes in our industry while staying true to our core values.

When we look at our team, it’s clear that we’re not just a group of colleagues – we’re a community of professionals committed to the long-term vision of transforming the real estate industry through technology. The average tenure of our staff is notably higher than the industry average, with many key members having been with the company for 6, 10, and even 15 years.

This longevity isn't just a testament to the positive work culture we foster, but also a critical factor in our ability to continuously improve our platform. These employees have been with us since the early stages of our development, giving them a unique understanding of the platform’s history, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the roadmap ahead.

Sew - a strong company culture

Want employees to stick around long enough to give back the value you've invested in them? If a company doesn’t have a powerful ‘why’ for the team to work towards, they’re missing out on the secret sauce needed to retain staff beyond the first couple of months of their tenure.

Just ask the team at Dynamic Methods, but not at 4pm... that’s dedicated to our daily team building exercise AKA online Pictionary – did we mention they’ve been with the company an impressive collective 82 years total and counting?

Fair - a leader with direction, not dictation

Nobody wants to feel like a cog in the machine, mindlessly following orders. To promote this balance, we ensure work hours are between 9 – 5, aligning with business needs without encroaching on the personal time of our team. This traditional structure, which is almost unheard of in the tech sector, has not only boosted employee satisfaction but also enhanced retention, proving that a focus on well-being is a win-win for everyone involved.

Tees - a shirt we wear to fuel product innovation

Innovation and agility are two essential qualities for a Proptech to survive in such a competitive industry. And because we’re so trail blazing, we need another developer to join our intrepid crew.

An ongoing adventure.

Our intrepid crew (the NodeJS bunch) may be from different planets, but like the control deck on the USS Enterprise, they’re navigating us in the direction we want to go… which is unexplored space. But this is not a 5-year mission (we’ve already reached 7 years) but an ongoing adventure to improve our software, the way it works and presents to the user.

So, the person we’re looking for needs initiative as much as smarts. In fact, we’ll toast a tin of Nesquik to initiative. So what do we say to attract the right person?

Dynamic Methods is great place to work, with awesome people and an amazing technological environment designed to challenge and reward.

It’s true, but it sounds lame coming from us.

So we thought the best way to attract the right person is to tell the story of the last right person we employed at Dynamic Methods. And the thing is; he never thought he was the right person. And we kind of think that’s the kind of person we need.

This job is not so much about being qualified to be here, more about wanting to be here.

Anyway, his name is Joe, and this is how he became part of the Dynamic Methods’ crew… around two years ago…

Retail Therapy

Joe was studying, living in a shared house and working part time. By the third year of his course, the lure/need to earn money outweighed the desire to study, and so, by degrees, he found himself working full time in retail.

But Joe was also a talented developer, self-taught, mucking around with JQuery, PHP and Python.

<em>I’d never done any professional dev work, and had no formal qualifications. I just assumed it excluded me from finding a job as a developer.</em>

Joe was also a creature of habit – he had a job and he had his life out of work; he wasn’t actively pursuing his options.

Four Weeks

Through a mutual contact, Joe’s name was recommended to us (because we were looking for a developer). We met him, liked him, and asked him if he’d like to try us out. Joe didn’t want to give up his retail job, in case things didn’t work out. That was cool with us.

He said he’d take four weeks annual leave, and see how things panned out. That was cool with us.

So Joe began his four week trial at Dynamic Methods. We eased him gently; unit tests for the API, and some Backbone and back-end NodeJS… that kind of thing.

I was so out of my comfort zone walking into Dynamic Methods that first day, but the stress and anxiety never really eventuated. Even though I was worried about getting things wrong, there was an acceptance of who I was; what I could do and what I needed to learn. And I was given space as well as help, and I learned that it was okay to ask questions, do things wrong to do them right – it was a sort of comforting in a way.

By the end of the four weeks, Joe wanted to stay. And we wanted Joe to stay. So he did, but he also continued to work at the retail store on weekends. That wasn’t cool with us – we are so much about work/life balance. Three months later, he agreed.
The four week trial was great; it was natural progression of responsibility, and I never felt overwhelmed.

Two Years Later

Joe is now a well-established, well-respected member of our team, and responsible for a wide range of projects ranging from development to design implementation of UIs. He is even giving guidance to our casual developers.

There’s always something to learn in this business. And that’s what I enjoy – I get to explore and discover new ways of doing things. I love the scope Dynamic Methods offers me – I’m not working on components of a job, I have authorship of an entire project which is very satisfying.

Joe has also become used to our relaxed way of working together – It’s okay to leave the desk and make a coffee (or a glass of banana Nesquik) – and when we clock off, we clock off (usually at 5pm).

I have a fantastic work/life balance. I love the fact that when we’re at work, everyone really cares about what we’re creating, the quality and innovation is paramount, but the evenings and weekends are mine – I don’t think about work, or if I do it’s because I want to. And I have to say that the other developers here are inspirational – so talented; they’ve created a national business from a software program, one that’s still developing and evolving cutting edge technology.

Another Joe?

So if you can relate to where Joe came from, you might be able to relate to where Joe is now. We’d like to hear from you at least. See what you think of us. And we’ll see what we think of you. Maybe even offer you a four week trial.

Position available: Digital Marketer

Position available: Developer

Join the Dynamic Methods Team

Banana flavoured Quik

So you arrive at our single fronted cottage on Sturt Street…

Single fronted cottage, you think… Are these guys really cutting edge developers?

Oooh… and looks dark!

And, what’s this… a locked front door with a hand-written note taped to it. It reads, “Please knock for entry, the doorbell is broken”

Am I in the right place...? Oh yeah… there’s another sign on the door, the size of silicon chip, which reads DYNAMIC METHODS.

That’s surely a joke.

So you knock on the door (and we open it).

You take a few steps inside, and here it is – your wow moment… It’s like walking into a Tardis – you even feel like you’ve time-travelled from 1890 to 2015.

You look up – this place has a mezzanine! A corrugated iron roof arches over the double storey-space which is filled with light. You want to go outside and have another look at this unassuming (possibly quaint) turn-of-the-century stone cottage… just to make sure you’ve entered the same building.

But our enthusiastic welcome doesn’t give you the opportunity. Instead, you are taken upstairs… ascending into the light and the smell of… toast?

“This is cool,” you say… We assume you are referring to the open-plan layout and not the air-conditioning. There’s a desk overlooking the void – a place to meet perhaps. It’s opposite a kitchen… Ah, the toast.

We don’t offer you toast, just tea, coffee or water… but you realise, if you worked here, that you could bring Banana flavoured Quik and no-one would mind.

You take in the surroundings – Sturt Street is visible from up here… and, yes, directly below, the roof of the cottage is still intact. You have a glass of water while you listen to us talk about how innovative and fun we are (and we are), and you’re already imagining what it would be like to work here, but… where is everyone?

The answer is soon revealed as you cross back over the void to the meeting desk…Ahh… now that you are looking properly, there is more space behind the desk, obscured by a feature wall of wine, books, and a… Commodore 64?

You walk into the developers’ space, where you might be working if all goes well…
They’re all the in the same room, and the room is… light. It’s like one of those offices your see in films, where you think… if work was like that, I wouldn’t mind going to work. You’re working through this in your head, trying to imagine it, when we introduce you to the other guys (a generic term for staff-members of either sex).

They seem nice… definitely relaxed, and genuinely welcoming… they could be your new work family.

“So where are the bean bags and pinball machines?” you joke. We are too polite and caring not to laugh and make you feel at ease.

Then we tell you we have a life outside the office… Nice as it is, we have other places we enjoy, family and friends that like being with us, and other interests away from work.

You nod and smile – you can relate to that. You begin to picture yourself working for Dynamic Methods.

Your tour comes to an end. We escort you to the front door. We tell you we like you because you seem enthusiastic and like the idea of working with us. You feel valued, and you don’t want to spoil the moment by suggesting we fix the door bell and get a new sign.

You leave. We shut the door.

(Oh… just in case you were wondering… we don’t have any bean bags or pinball machines).

CRMs are now in much better form

Here are three letters – CRM.

They are recognised and understood by a vast majority successful, proactive business people – Client Relationship Management is vital to working more efficiently, personally and profitably.

Here are three more letters – API.

They are recognised and understood by very few. Basically, our software saves agents a whole lot of time and running around, making agencies more productive.

In the last six months, our Forms software has gone ballistic!
